Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Hype Media ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares personal information through our website at hype-media.app and the Hype Media application (together, the "Service"). It covers two groups of people:
- Our users: people who visit our website, sign in to the Service, or contact us.
- Business contacts: owners, managers, and employees of businesses that advertise in publications, whose business contact information may appear in our lead data.
1. Information we collect about our users

We only receive your basic Google profile (name, email, photo). We do not get access to your Gmail, contacts, calendar, or files.
2. Information about business contacts
To produce leads, we compile business contact information about people associated with businesses that advertise in publications. This may include name, job title, business name, business email, business phone, business address, and the business's website.
We collect this from:
- advertisements appearing in publicly available digital editions of newspapers and other publications;
- the business's own public website;
- public records, such as business registrations and domain registration records;
- third-party business data providers, such as Hunter.io.
We use this information only to help media sales teams contact businesses about advertising. We do not collect sensitive personal information such as financial account data, health information, or government ID numbers about business contacts.
If your information appears in our Service, you can ask us to access, correct, or delete it, or to suppress it so it is no longer shown to customers. Email privacy@hype-media.app with your name, business, and the email or phone number involved. We will keep a minimal suppression record so your information is not added again.
3. How we use information
- To provide, operate, and secure the Service, including sign-in and plan limits
- To identify advertisers, rank leads, and produce pitch briefs and trend signals
- To send daily digests and service messages you have signed up for
- To process payments and manage subscriptions
- To respond to support and pilot requests
- To improve data quality and fix errors
- To comply with law and enforce our Terms & Conditions
4. AI processing
We use AI models to read advertisements, classify businesses, and write pitch briefs. Ad images and text, along with public business information, are sent to our AI providers (Google Cloud Vision and Anthropic) for this purpose. Our providers' commercial terms do not allow them to use this data to train their models. We do not send your account data or usage history to AI providers.
5. How we share information
We do not sell our users' personal information. We share information only as follows:
- With customers: business contact information described in Section 2 is made available to subscribing media sales teams. This is the core function of the Service.
- With service providers who process data on our behalf under contract:

- For legal reasons: when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Hype Media, our users, or others.
- In a business transfer: as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
6. Cookies and local storage
This marketing website does not use cookies, advertising pixels, or third-party analytics. It loads fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address to deliver them. The Hype Media application stores a sign-in token in your browser's local storage to keep you logged in. It is removed when you log out. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising.
7. Retention
- Account and usage data: kept while your account is active and for up to 12 months after it closes, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
- Billing records: kept as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Business contact data: refreshed regularly. Records for businesses that stop advertising are removed or de-identified over time, and suppressed records are never shown to customers.
- Server logs: kept for up to 90 days.
8. Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, signed sign-in tokens, and limited staff access to protect information. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and other U.S. states with privacy laws, you may have the right to:
- know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy;
- correct inaccurate information;
- delete your information;
- opt out of the sale or sharing of your information, or of targeted advertising;
- not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
To make a request, email privacy@hype-media.app. We may need to verify your identity. You can use an authorized agent, and we will respond within 45 days. We honor Global Privacy Control signals where required. If we deny your request, you can appeal by replying to our response.
10. Children
The Service is for business use by adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
11. Where data is processed
Hype Media is based in the United States, and our service providers process data in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S.
12. Changes
We may update this Policy. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and notify account holders by email or in the Service before the changes take effect.
